Possible life sentence for man who torched foster mom’s home

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN) - A life sentence now awaits a local man who allegedly torched his foster mother’s house, as police complete investigations into the case and the prosecution hikes up charges against the accused.

The Magistrate’s Court, presided over by Magistrate Hajah Ervy Sufitriana binti Haji Abdul Rahman, remitted the case to be heard in the High Court after seeing DPP Siti Nurjauinah binti Haji Kula bring a charge under Section 436 of the Penal Code against 34-year-old Haji Mohd Faizal bin Haji Wasli of mischief by arson with intention to cause total obliteration to his foster mother’s house at Kampong Perpindahan Mentiri at 3.20am on April 5, 2018.

The defendant was ordered to be further remanded while waiting for the High Court to call for the case.
