Brunei radio DJ auditions attract over 100 people
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN) - In a move to launch Brunei’s first mobile radio station, over 100 people turned up for Progresif’s first open auditions for radio DJs.
The auditions were also streamed live to an audience gathered at the Cultivate Bistro inside the building, through a beta version of the Progresif Radio app.
Devin Edwards, the Chief Marketing Officer of Progresif, said, “The response to our call for auditions was incredible. We are pleased to have so many talented people who are interested in becoming a DJ, and helping to shape the programming and personality for Progresif Radio.
“We want to thank everyone who turned up for the auditions to share their talents and spend time with us. Progresif Radio is an exciting project for us, and we’re glad to be able to share this excitement with others. We’ve got much more to tell so stay tuned for more updates,” he added.
Progresif has invested in building broadcast and recording studios, with some of the top talents in Brunei to help run the daily operations for both. Currently, the Progresif Radio app is undergoing beta testing before a full launch in the coming weeks.
During the audition process, Progresif partnered with local events company, Big BWN Cookout, to have local food vendors serve up unique food and beverage creations to a hungry crowd.
Hafiza binti Mohamad, the Corporate Communications Manager of Progresif, said that the event also acted as a platform for local food vendors to share their passion for food.
“The partnership with Big BWN Cookout is part of our ongoing commitment to help local businesses by giving them an outlet where they can make their products known,” she said. “We would also like to thank the Big BWN Cookout team for bringing a group of vendors together and adding to the liveliness of the event.”
