Brunei impresses Thai college delegation

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN) - In collaboration with Kansadaeng Watthanatham Co Ltd, 20 lecturers and students from Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts, Thailand recently visited Brunei Darussalam from January 9 - 11 as part of Asean Project.

The college has been travelling to different Asean member countries each year to exchange cultures and mutual understanding.

In the Sultanate, the college visited the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, St George’s School, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Persatuan Bersatu (SSEAYP International Brunei) and Sufri Bolkiah Secondary School, where a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed.

In every place, members of the college performed traditional music and dance from the northern part of Thailand followed by a Thai dance workshop, namely ‘Ram Wong’ which is also known as Circle Dance. The group learnt Brunei traditional cultures including music, dance, costumes and food.

Dr Kasama Prasongcharoen, Director of the Chiang Mai College of Dramatic Arts, appreciated the warm hospitality given by the citizens of Brunei Darussalam.
