AITI gets new chairman, board members
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN (Borneo Bulletin/ANN) - Brunei's Sultan has consented to the appointment of the new Chairman and members of the Board of the Authority for Info-communications Technology Industry of Brunei Darussalam’s (AITI).
According to a press statement, Dato Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy and Industry has been selected as the new Chairman of AITI, while the new members are YB Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman, Legislative Council member; Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications; Dr Hajah May Fa’ezah binti Haji Ahmad Ariffin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Performance and Compliance) at the Ministry of Finance; Pengiran Haji Mohd Zain bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Razak, Chief Executive of AITI; Pengiran Dr Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra, Senior Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Integrated Technologies, Universiti Brunei Darussalam; and Haji Khairul Zaki bin Haji Mohiddin, Head of FinTech at the Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam.
The appointments are effective from February 1, 2018 until January 31, 2020. AITI was established on January 1, 2003 through the AITI Order, 2001 to function as the telecommunications regulator, national radio-frequency spectrum manager and developer of Brunei Darussalam’s information and communications technology industry.
