1960s townscape planned in Seibu theme park renovation
TOKYO (The Japan News/ANN) - Seibu Railway Co. will reproduce a townscape with nostalgic touches of the 1960s at Seibu Amusement Park in Tokorozawa, Saitama Prefecture, as part of a major renovation of the park, the company has said.
The railway company plans to invest about ¥10 billion for the reproduction of streets of this kind, renovation of existing facilities and the introduction of a new attraction. It plans to reopen the amusement park in the first half of 2021.
Seibu Amusement Park, which opened in 1950, has many several decades-old facilities such as a Ferris wheel and a merry-go-round.
